Delhi Capitals’ pacer Avesh Khan said he fulfilled a long-cherished dream when he got former India skipper MS Dhoni’s prized wicket in their IPL opener against Chennai Super Kings.
The 24-year-old from Indore dismissed Dhoni and South Africa’s Faf du Plessis for his two wickets during Delhi Capitals’ seven-wicket win over CSK here on Saturday.
“Three years ago, I had a chance to take Mahi bhai’s wicket, but somebody had dropped the catch. But now my dream of taking Mahi bhai’s wicket is fulfilled, so I am very happy about it.
“Since he has not played competitive matches for some time, we had planned to put pressure on him and because of that pressure I could take his wicket,” Avesh said in a Delhi Capitals release.
