The race for the golden boot is underway in the latest season of the Indian Super League (ISL 2020-21), which is being held behind closed doors in Goa. The familiar contenders have added to their tally in the opening weeks of the tournament which began on November 20.
ATK Mohun Bagan captain Roy Krishna scored the first goal of the tournament in the win over the Blasters and followed it up with his second in the Kolkata derby against SC East Bengal. NorthEast United forward Kwesi Appiah has scored a goal in his side’s two matches, and he takes the top spot of the Golden Boot race after 8 matchdays.
NorthEast United FC, Hyderabad FC, ATK Mohun Bagan and Mumbai City FC are the only sides to keep a clean-sheet so far. FC Goa has two players, Alberto Noguera and Alexander Jesuraj with an assist each.
